Both work. If your patient, you usually get the real thing anyway. I've had them gobble when geese fly over or a truck door close. Where I hunt in MO I would give the nod to the hooter...

I use a crow call 99% of the time. I have found that the peecock calls will work good too. Generally I know where the turkeys are already & so I use the crow call to allow me to get in a good position.

While the majority of turkey hunters prefer crow and owl calls, I prefer to try to think outside the box. I like a peacock screamers, goose honkers, coyote howlers and even an elk bugle (here in Washington state). I guess what I'm saying is that I like to try things that the turkeys aren't possibly hearing all the time in an attempt to shock them into gobbling.

That makes since KitsapCaller. I've never heard of anyone using an elk call. Very interesting.

here out west i prefer a coyote howler and agoose call never tried an elk bugle their kitsap maybe i will try that this spring this ranch where i hunt in idaho has roosters crowing in the a.m. relly gets the gobblers going on the limb

I use anything that makes a loud noise. Even had them wooden Train whistles work aswell ...BT

Honker flute or a coyote howler work terrific at daybreak and at dusk around these parts and I know for sure in other areas of the west as well!Mid-morning I hope for some thunder!!A good thunder from a thunder and lightening storm or even a sonic boom makem gobble almost everytime!!!!;)
