is it true that turkeys eat those sponge mushrooms that you find in the woods??

Absolutely. I know that they eat the common morrels, and the orange ones in the fall that look like toadstools....I can't think of the name of those....

Yeah, they'll eat just about anything....including all those quail and grouse chicks, and even fawns. :D Seriously! ;) That's what some folks would have you believe as to why there are now so many turkeys, while we have shrinking populations of grouse, quail, and deer. :eek:

I hunt Morells and have seen Turkrys in the patches I hunt never seen one eat a mushroom. I belive they look for bugs among them. I find mushrooms where Turkeys scratch.
