Which choke tube is better
 

I'm looking for a turkey choke tube,and i'm concidering these three options, gobblin thunder,truglo,and comp-n-choke. My questions are which one is better? Sorry for not mentioning this earlier, I'm useing a Rem. 11/87 SPS-T with 21" bar. I now have a Rem. xxfull turkey tube in it now and can get 9-13 pellets of #5 shot in the head/neck area of a turkey target at 40 yds. I know that's not bad but< you read so much about these other tubes winning countless NWTF still target championships. So for more confidence for those long feather flying shots i wanted to try a diff. tube. Thanks once again for any input.

Different choke tubes work better with different guns and different shot loads. My suggestion is that you provide a little more detail as the to the type of gun and your preferences as to shot loads and maybe you can get some input from people on this board who have the same set up. You will still want to make sure what works best for you but it should narrow your search.

..With out a doubt,the three you mentioned Comp-n Choke is the best,dont waste your money on the others ive tried them all..:)..

This topic will cause some debate for sure. I for one will already disagree with a reply. I would would have to have to say Buckeye gave some great advise as a starting point, if you post what you are shooting maybe someone else is shooting something similar and can give you a starting point. What works in one gun might not work well in another. I know guys that shoot good patterns at 40 yrds with factory choke tubes and others that shoot good patterns at 40 yrds with $60 choke tubes. I have one of the above mentioned tubes and can knockem stiff at 40 yards. Patterning a gun can get expensive. I bet I shot 8-10 different loads before last season, and at Wally World you have to buy a box of each. An average of $9.00 a box really ads up. This is just my $.02 worth.

None of them are "the best". Depends on what gun you are shooting and what ammo you are feeding it. (whew... sounds like a carbon copy of the above replies)

For me... I am shooting a Tru-Glo S.S. in my 835 and I don't care that it was only $50. Money was not the deciding factor for me. It was what the tube did at the pattern board. Let's just say I won't be switching any time soon.

I have tryed the all also and i got me a tru glo after reading Maytoms post and i'm glad i did. It shot great out of my 11-87 with Win #5's and Remingtons Heavi shot #5's. Shot the Heavi shot the best!!!!

I agree with Mr. Longbeard!! I have an 11-87 and that Tru-Glo shot the best using those Winchester 3&quot; HV 1 3/4oz of #5's!! Great tube for the money. Is it the best? Depends on your individual gun, Mark Bansner designed and made that choke for Tru-Glo, and I feel that he was the pioneer on this whole turkey choke thing to begin with. Midwest Turkey call supply sells it for $49.95, a real sleeper in my book. There are other good chokes out on the market, check in the midwest catalog and in their choke tube section, they state which restriction works best in each brand of gun with what size choke tube as well. At least that will be a starting point for you. I bet some choke tube companies would lend you a tube to try out first to determine which size restriction will work best out of your guns.
