i've got serious coyote problem. they've already ran off one flock of turkeys behind my house, and now they are moving in on my honey hole a few miles up the road. my uncle moved a couple of donkeys over there to try and keep them away. does anyone know if this really works or not? A buddy lives across the road from another spot i hunt ocassionally and he's told me he hears a big pack almost every night. I've got no experience hunting the damn things but I need to learn fast. Any tips on how to call them in or baiting them?

I have heard that... a donkey will keep away coyotes.

get some rabbit tapes and play them... those yotes will come running to it!

Don't worry about it. For one thing, turkeys have been living with coyotes since long before people came into the picture. And, There have been various government coyote eradication programs since the 19th century. They don't work. We've got more coyotes than ever. Where we hunt, we've got coyotes, wolves, bobcats, bears.....and turkeys. Make sure you've got good nesting habitat. That will guarantee you more turkeys than shooting a couple of coyotes.
And by the way, turkey decoys do work great for coyotes, and from personal experience, bears, when you're hunting turkeys.

Eastern turkeys haven't been living with coyotes for very long actually. Yotes used to be a western predator. But turkeys are smart and wary, and if the habitat is good, they will survive the yotes.

This is gonna sound nuts but Alpaca scare the dickens out of coyotes-a guy out here put a wild burro and an alpaca together in the same field and the coyotes cleared out almost immediately. Nice thing is you don't have to do much besides water and occassionally trim the alpaca-takes care of everything else itself.

Coyotes have been a problem in our Hunting Area, for a Few Years, and the Poults have been Non Existant, for 2 Seasons Now! Get yourself some Sponges, appox 1" to 1 1/2" Thick. Cut the Sponges into Small Blocks appox 1 1/2" X 1 1/2". Take some Bacon Grease, that has Cooled Slightly, and let the Sponges Absorb the Bacon Grease. After your Sponges have absorbed all the Grease that they will, take and place them in a Zip Lock Bag, and the Next Trip to your Hunting Area, Toss, a few here, and a Few there. Coyotes will find these by Scent, and Devour them! Bad thing is, they will make it through their Big Intestines, but will not pass through their Small Intestines, and a Blockage will Occure! They will Suffer a Terrible Death, but what do you care. Do they show Mercy on Game Animals? Hell No! The term is Periionistis, by which they Die From. Not sure about the Spelling! But it is ,,,Perry In Ittis Works Slicker than Cat Chit on a Marble Floor!

Their Stomach Acids will not Disolve a Sponge! Once they Dine on these, they are Marked for Death! Are Numbers are way Down! Coyotes that is!:D
