Taken around 20 now.Started hunting in the early 90's.Took till my 3rd year of hunting to get 1, but have taken birds every year since then.

I have been hunting turkeys for two years and have taken 2 birds each year. All have been long beards and range from 18 lbs. to 22 lbs. The second bird I shot my first year had two beards and was a big bird!! I have been lucky and fortunate to shoot birds but like an earlier post stated, it's not about killing the birds, it's about being in the woods and watching the birds in their natural habitat. The last day of hunting last year I sat in the woods the whole day and watched 4 good sized jakes go right past me and I didn't even think of shooting. Just watching them taught me so much about their behaviors. I also know that this year those birds will be 2 year olds and I will be definitely looking forward to seeing them in a strut in 2005.

Taken around 10 gobblers in the last 20 years. My area of the state only has a spring season. Eight years, in the 90s, I didn't get any hunting time due to Naval service in the Gulf and elsewhere. Best year was 1985. Turkeys were relatively new to my area as they were only stocked about six years before. Of only 34 gobblers taken in my county that year 2 were mine. Pretty cool having 6% of the county success rate by myself and had my picture in the local paper.

No braggin here at all!

I love to hunt these birds but no longer hunt the fall.

I have taken 2 Jakes, 30 long beards - all Easterns and 1 long beard Rio!

Am looking for #34

I've been hunting the spring season here for 4 years and bagged 5 long beards. I got one the very first try! My buddy also got one the same morning! We shot about ten minutes apart with me doing all of the calling. We have both been hooked ever since. I only shoot longbeards and let the jakes grow-up.

As for total number for spring and fall I would say approximately 20 birds including the one I got this morning!

Hopefully I will get my first one next spring-I have never hunted them but helped restock central nebraska since 1973. Now I get to go harvest one I hope.

I'm guessing around 30 ,kinda lost count . Got lotsa turks in my area . They are as thick as chickens in the barn yard where I hunt.
