Default BUSTING UP ROOSTED TURKEYS WORKED

Bosstom thanks for the tip it worked, I went out this morning to a new area and in the dark i accidentally spooked a hole flock of turkeys off the trees, It scared the doe pee right out of me at first, Big dang birds flying everywhere in the dark. So i set up under a tree on the side of a small ridge about 60 yards from where they had been roosting and about the same distance from where it sounded like they landed. I didnt use any calls i just wanted to be quiet and watch to see what happened,Well alittle after daybreak 5 hens came bobing along they were about 40 yards out in front of me just prening themselves, but no shot, I like to keep my shots preferably at 25yards and under.I did watch to see where the turkeys were going and i figured they would proably go up the ridge and then down to the picked bean field so i decided to pursue them and try to get to a spot where i could cut them off and ambush them, but once again no luck when i got to the field they were already out there and had been joined by some gobblers on the other corner of the field, i sat and pondered witch group to try to stalk up on when 5 deer came running out of the woods like they were running in the kentucky dirby into the field, dont know what spooked them but that was the end of the turkeys. Gonna try again.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>Thanks again.

Lady, thats great, glad to read that you have seen a little of the hunt. If you bust the flock and sit as you did in the first part and just whistle with your lips in the same notes as the Kee-Kee that the birds do , they will move you way aswell. Good Luck...BT

I'm going to try using the push button box call next time to try and lure them my way a little closer next time.
