Anyone ever had a feeder made on this design?

Looks like a pretty neat design. Never seen one quite like it though. Is it yours, Strut?

One problem I see: At the bottom where the pipe comes close to the hardware cloth, you should have a cross piece directly under the pipe. Deer and/or hogs will get up ON the platform pushing the wire down thus creating a larger opening which translates into even more corn being piled up.

I might have even put a solid board bottom on it. Use 5/8 deck planks with about 1/8" space between them. This would let the rain drain but give a more precise and durable flow.

looks good.if you have hogs coming to it,you would need to put some plumbing straps around the pipe at the botton, connected to the 2x2,so they can't move it about.
hogs are very distructive animals.
let us know how it works.

I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest

remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.

No hogs in this part of the country, This is the first one I've built like this and probably has room for several improvements.

paint it, that thing is an eye sore. it looks like a good design though. how do u get the feed into the garbage can? that thing will hurt ur eyes if u catch the glare off the can. definitely should be more discreet and paint it with flat camo well before the season.

I think a flat black paint would be good for the can. A poacher could see it for miles. Or you could take the time and paint it camo.

I like it, but i would agree to camo the can.

This feeder looks like it would definetly would work. The animals don't care what it looks like, they like the free food. Good idea to keep the grain off the ground. Do you use a ladder to fill it?

WHATS THE DEAL W/ BAITING TURKEYS? THATS NOT TO COOL AROUND HERE!!

Tate I'm not using it to hunt around, I use it for pictures. To kill a turkey around a feeder would take all the fun out of turkey hunting.

I will paint it in the near future, and I can fill it right from the back of my truck with no problem, Also you can add some steps to the back side if you need to, I have one step already there up high, I thought I might need it when filling from my truck but I don't. It just stays on my own land and not worried about someone stealing it or what it looks like right now. Just testing it to see how well or if it even worked.
