RE: For all you pros!!
im no pro but my best advice is to team up w/ an experienced turkey hunter that dont mind not being the trigger man on every hunt. if you are on some birds and will take turns doing the shooting most good turkey hunters will be glad to join you. that has worked really good for me. there is nothing like being there when it happens.

I would have you buy some assortment of calls and have you practice using them. Study some good video tapes. And yes, try to find a veteran turkey hunter who will be willing to teach you properly. Just remember, theer are no set rules for any hunting situation, just some that work more than others. The only other thing is to be out in the woods, with or without a veteran hunter.....This is what they mean by "O_J_T" or "On the Job Training". Good Luck!!

I hunt in Missouri north of Weston, don't live to far from you. Would be happy to help you out; I have enough ground and time to get my birds. I always enjoy showin' a new hunter the ropes. If your interested let me know, I normally like to meet the people I'm hunting with. So we would have to get together before Kansas season opens.

just remember that sometimes calling may not be the best way to go. if the birds are not gobbling & you are having a hard time calling in birds due to preassure then change your plan & wait them out. get between a roasting & feeding area & just sit tight. it's not much fun but it beats going home without a gobbler!
