10 or 12 3.5?

I am looking at buying a dedicated turkey gun for next year.
The NFA singl shot with the 24 in barral in camo has cougt my eye.

But what gauge?

which would be best the 10 or the 12 3.5?

I make someone mad everytime I say this but, all that firepower is not necessary and I believe it encourages people to take questionable shots, resulting in lost/wounded birds. That being said, 12ga 3 1/2 is easier to find shells for than a 10ga, but the 10, other factors being equal, will kick less. Both will kill turkeys, but so will a .410 in capable hands.

As far as the 20 goes i realy have never liked the 20.

evan when i first started out i was never inthrould with it.

I have been using a mosberg 500 in 12 3in for the turkeys.

But the 24 in barral and the compact sing shot has my interest up.

As far as long shots go where i hunt i higly dought you would see a terkey past 50yds.

i realty new to terkey hunting but on the ones i have taken i have gotten close.

The 12 3.5 or 10 would not realy be nessery.
but that the 2 chambering in the gun i am looking at.

I have not handel the 10 at all but i have shot a round or two out of a mosberg 835.

Does it have to be a single shot......you can find a lot of pump guns with 24 inch barrels in 12 3 1/2. I have a benelli nova that has a 24 inch barrel and is 3 1/2.

TBM

The single shot will be shorter because its missing the lenth of the action.

get the 12 ga its more versatile if you get a 10 ga you limit yourself to just waterfowl and turkey hunting, besides I have found the 12 ga 3.5 inch to have a denser center shot string to 40 yards then the 10 ga.

I have to agree with the others here ,,, Can you get this gun in a 3 in ,, you don't need either of the 3.5 or 10 , just stick with the 3in if possible...BT
