Raven I soak mine in Listerine mouthwash for an hour or so then rinse them with water. Then use your fingers to pull them apart. The are remarkably resilliant.
Paul
p.s. I like the minty stuff.

Raven, you can also stick a piece of toothpick between the reeds before
storing them, and they won't stick together.

Raven,
I like to use the small plastic paper clips, they will give you a little more surface area than toothpicks and just throw them in your mouth and once everything gets moist, they come out and you're ready. I would always try to wash with tap water after each use, if you can. Paul is right, its hard to beleive just how hard it is to tear even a 3mil piece of latex.

Hey Raven have'nt seen you on here for awhile, good to see your still here.To be honest Raven on your question,I like to warm my calls up so to speak.Once your calls get wet and you store them the reeds do end up sticking together, unless you place something to keep them from touching each other. In a hunting situation its a real pain in the behind messing around with the toothpicks and what not, taking them out between your reeds and then remembering to put them back in.I have found over the years if you get the call wet before you go hunting or put it immediately in your mouth in getting into position to work a bird the reeds more often times than not loosen up as you call on them. The moisture in your mouth coupled with the warmth will loosen it up enough to seperate the reeds in your call.I've been doin it that way for years, when I hear or move in on a bird to start workin him it's automatic the call goes in my mouth before I'm even set-up.Works for me my friend! :)

The guys have lead you right , keep in mind that if you pull apart the reeds with your fingers , you can shorten the life span of your mouth call , this stretches the latex from the frame and will kill the sound of that call...BT
