When should I replace my diaphams? How can you tell the difference between a Jake and a Hen?

first off welcome the the boards...hope ya like it here...and if someone causes you a problem dont leave...everything ive ever seen always worked out...except PETA! lol...but neways...i duno when to replace ur calls...and a jake is a young 1yr old male tukey a hen is a female...

I knew that part. I was talking about the sounds of a Jake and Hen.

Welcome VA.When it comes to hens and jakes you can't always go by the hi-pitch raspy theory.Alot of jakes have a deep raspy yelp but some are rather high pitched,Hens tend to be higher pitched but lots of them are raspy and deep.The best indicater is the rythem(my spellin sux)a hens yelpin will be faster than a gobblers.I'll try to show you a gobbler yelps are like yelp,yelp,yelp and a hens is more like yelpyelpyelp.hope this didn't confuse you.
