Consequences of Sept 11th?

Just wondering if anybody has heard anything on if air travel regulations will change much for us hunters?Last year I carried my shells and a 6 inch knife with me on the plane in a carry on bag.I have a hard time believing they will let me do that again. What have you heard?May have to pack a little different!<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

I know that the knife is illegal. It has always been my understanding that ammunition of any kind in a carry on is illegal on all flights foriegn or domestic. However, you can still check a gun easily, and ammo is still allowed in a checked bag. My father just flew in to hunt ducks with me and brought a gun and ammo. I also know several people that have flown and hunted since Sept. 11.

Knives are definitely out. I imagine ammo is too. I wouldn't risk a long delay at the airport.

I flew out of Florida last spring and remember I forgot my Briefcase with a Hunting knife in it, I was going to carry it on , they made me cheak it in like baggage.
When I crossed the boarder in October just after, I had a Gun and bow on the way to jalvja's place , they had a look and both where locked up in the cases , there was no problem ,respontablity goes a long way in this case ...BT

Yea, I know they let a lot get by before. I think by regulation ammo in a carry on is illegal. I am sure any small thing will be checked for a long time, but that is the way it should have always been.

Sorry guys , I forgot to add that most flights ,before the incased Firearm is put on the plane , the company asked to see the gun and that it is unloaded in the locked case. They then place a Unloaded firearms sticker on it.Then the gun is loaded on with the bagage...BT
