RE: DECOY EXPANDERS?
I got some from the girlfriends mom. Kinda said thanx biting my tongue. I once had a tom coming in and had the expander for the hen and standard stake for the jake. Jake was up in secs. Hen cost me the tom he spotted me before the decoy could be setup I was pissed. If you have the time to set em' up they work great but if you need to setup up quick you might as well not setup at all.

RE: DECOY EXPANDERS?
I was always leary of them. Seemed like something marketed to lure the hunter more than the hunted. Takes very little time to stick your hand up the decoy's rearend while putting the stake in place. <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: DECOY EXPANDERS?
I used them all last spring without any problem. For me, it takes the same amount of time to set up the decoy whether I use the expander or not because without them I always had to get the wrinkles and dents out of the decoy.

RE: DECOY EXPANDERS?
I used the expanders last year also. They are made for the expander to stay in the decoy at all times. That button is too much of a pain to take off each time. I just wrap the decoy around the expander and stuff it into the bag. There are trade-offs between the stakes and the expanders. I think that the stakes can be easier to get into the hard ground but you don't have to worry about the decoy spinning in the wind with the expanders. So, as with most things, it comes to personal preference and technique.
