RE: Decoys or Not?
I have to disagree on the "big gobblers being spooked" by decoys. I was watching a knight and Hale video just last night and watched a HUGE gobbler literally RUN to a jake decoy and absolutely destry it. I witnessed countless other big toms coming in to decoys as well. I've killed birds with them and without them. Sometimes a bird is so close that there's no time to set one up, but they can be a definite asset and I will continue to use them.

RE: Decoys or Not?
I have been turkey hunting for about 5 years. The first two years I did not get a turkey.I bought a hen and killed two the following year. The next year I bought a jake to go with the hen and I killed one last year with that setup.I am a firm believer in them.

not me and my dad...we dont even own any and as serious and as much as we turkey hunt thats surprising....there have been situations we didnt get to see birds/get shots coz of no decoys out....but my dad feels he killed like 8 longbeards without em and hes a pro....i will have em when im 16 bein the birds we lost i was the only gunman...my dads tag was filled...so i will have atleast a hen with me not this season but next when im 16 and hunting myself....unless my dad ses im not aloud to go alone...which he may do hes wierd sumtimes bout stuff we both kno i can do...that will make me mad!
