scope on turkey gun?
 

I am thinking about putting a Bushnell Trophy 1.75x4x32 scope on my shotgun and was wonder if anyone can tell me how to go about sighting in a scope shooting turkey loads? I know how to sight in a rifle scope but the fact that I will be shooting turkey loads thus not a single hole to judge.

I started out at about 15 yards. You can get a good feel where your pattern is going at that range since it is so tight and adjust your scope accordingly. I then moved progressively further to make sure the center of my pattern was still around the bullseye. I ended up at 40 yards to see how many hits I would get in a 10 inch circle.

I have a Simmons 2X scope on my Mossberg 835 and love it!!

Thanks, that was the way I was going to do it but thought I would get some feedback on it before I did it.

I did the same at 15 yards and used trap loads. Once I was punching out a dime size dot consistently, I moved back and went to turkey loads.

That is a shoulder saver.

yup as said - 3 drams - 1 oz - 71/2 shot. My Std load.

and as said I did add a Cantelever barrel and even had to adjust that!

Scope is a Nikon Monarch 1.5 to 4.5 and it is just fine at 2 power!

Luv that sucker....why did I wait so long?

i have a simmons diamond scope and i love it.
i have it mounted on my winchester.
i have a red dot on my knight tk2000 muzzleloader.
that tk2000 is a gobbler getter. i can put 360 plus shot in a 30 in. circle at 40 yards.

I have a scope on my Winchester model 1300 Buck and Tom and Adrian helped me get my first gobbler into the crosshairs this spring! :)

I sighted my shotgun in at 30 yards and made the necessary adjustments the same as I would if I was sighting in a rifle.

I used Winchester H.V. turkey loads with #5 shot! ;)
