Alabama catching up with the rest of the country.
I found out yesterday that the upcoming 2005 turkey season, it will be legal to use decoys in Alabama. I imagine they will be a good asset in the arsenal for the next few years if set up properly. Especially since most of our birds have never seen deks before. I'm sure some have even though it's been illegal.[:'(]
They have also approved the use of a crossbow during regular archery season for both deer and turkey. This has been limited to only disabled hunters up til now. I still prefer my bow, but others may want to change. They have also approved the use of a scope on muzzle loaders. This all may be too much for us good 'ole boys/girls to handle in one year.:D They may have seen it that way too, because I don't think they legalized baiting for deer.;) |

Well that's good.....Just one suggestion if ya decide to use decoys...be careful the first year with em...guys won't be used to looking at them. Just a suggestion though. Pat

we have always been able to use decoys, though i rarely use them.i have heard that the crossbow may be legalized this next season.i won't use a crossbow, but if you think about the population increases of turkey and deer, something has to be done to get more people to hunt in order to control the population rather than let mother nature do it if it is unchecked.
