one for team 9

pike county il,2nd day of hunt.chased gobbling in the a.m. and could not get to one on the roost in time.thought of options at that time, run and gun?,sit and wait?.at the last second i decided to set up where i sat the day before without any luck,i just had a feeling.was lazily setting up a hen decoy close to a road that seperates the timber from a feeding field,he gobbled on his own in the timber approx 100 yards,i hit him with my box call, few yelps and clucks,he was red hot and moving in,gave him a couple purrs and put my call down.ill tell you there are few things more beautifull in nature then a gobbler in full strut, came up to my hen and would not break strut seemed like forever, cleared my throat and the rest is history.23lbs,1 inch spurs,9 inch beard.rem 870 express, ventilator choke, nitro 4,5,and 7 3 1/2 inch ammo, delta hen decoy,33 yards.i hope everyone has a safe and enyoyable season.
