There was a guy on here a couple of weeks ago trying to convince me that he was putting over 80 hits in the vitals at 40 yards. People really need to spend some time learning more about turkey hunting!!!!

Good to hear this info ass I bought a 835 for this season and still have to pattern it. I also called the factory about the barrel condition of mine. They said when the barrwl is Parkerised that they dont plug the ends and thats over spray inside and to just shoot it out. I like the 4/0steelwool idea. And yes to zzvedder reply about vidals. Deffinatly get to know and animals vitals that you hunt. Nice shot! John

Zzuedder,a lot of the folks that post on this board are reletively new hunters at this sport. This ain't a test! We're all here to give and receive good advice. I'am sure you are a pretty knowledgeable guy and we can all benefit from your advice. Funny thing about advice, it's a lot easer to swallow if your not chokeing on it.

zzvedder... Chill out! Just because someone doesn't word something the way you would, doesn't mean you can slam him about it. Not everyone can be an expert like you. By the way, Knockemstiff was telling us about his pattern of his shot, not that it hit only the brain and vertebrae area.
Sorry to all of the other readers about me being on a soap box, but it really irritates me when MR. KNOW IT ALL shows up and starts slamming people about their results.

Adrian,
I plan on testing some more, I will e-mail you the pics. I hope to have things ready to go long before you get here. I don't plan on wasting hunting time at the range.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: Mossberg 835 pattern results
I shot both the 3" and 3 1/2 inch shells in my mossberg. I found the 3 1/2 to pattern better with the 6 shot. Hurt like hell though, I shot about 15 shots and two days later had a bruise implanted on my shoulder. I'm not up to date on all shell differences but I know i used winchester. Let me know if anyone has any good suggestions
