Strut, man thanks for the info. I went late last night and hit the woodpecker call. Got a general idea of where he was roosting. Tonight I will find his exact location and set up close early in the morn before daylight.


(I went back later on this evening just to look. Guess where he was???
30yds from where I sat up at this morning by himself.[:@]
I watched as he strutted and then mosied on into the woodline.)

I hear one gobbling a ways off. I try to sneak up on him, but about 90yds away he sees me and runs off. However, he is still responsive to calling and gobbles A LOT, but does not come back to me.

Will he be in the same feeding place tomorrow that he was today?
What I try to do is "Run & Gun" and circle around the bird. That way you are calling from the opposite direction & have a better chance.
