RE: Why won't they cross?
Old Faithful--I would've done just that and "thrown" my calls behind me, but he was looking in my direction and I had just taken my diaphragm call out (after hours of it being there) because I was getting ready to move to a new location. Good idea, but I couldn't do it. [:@]
jepcho and turkeydude--I was using two hens and a jake--with one of the hens next to the jake in the breeding postion. However, the gobbler only saw my lone hen decoy and never walked to a place where he could have seen what the other two were up to. That was unfortunate for me and very lucky for him! barefoot--I did set up on his side of the stream the next day--even got there early and stayed 'till quittin' time. . . . He never showed. |
