My boy's pattern

This is my 9 yr old son's first turkey:D Now he is sure he is ready for the real thing in the morning. This is a 30 yd target not bad for a kid eh? Little booger out shot me with my own gun. Thought I'd post this and build his ego a little. HERE TURKEY HERE TURKEY TURKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Young Buck

What was he shooting and shell type? My 9 year old shot his new 20 gauge yesterday. I let him fire off some 3" HS #6's and it kind of made him a little gun shy. I am going to drop back to 2 3/4 duck loads to see if that helps him. Hoping to to take him out Saturday and he is going to try to get his first turkey. Hopefully I don't have to do a follow up shot. He nailed the target on the first shot but shot high on the next 2. He is anticipating the shot and pulling back. I have him here next to me as I write this so seeing your boys target has got him pumped up!!!!

Yup, I'd say that would turn his lights out.

This morning I helped call and video a friend's boy (he is 9 or 10). He shot his first tom.

He was using a 20 gauge mossberg with a 1 ounce load of #5's in a 2 3/4" shell. It was about a 20 yard shot and that bird never knew what hit him.
