Boots
i'm tight on money when it comes to hunting supplies and don't really want to buy new boots adn was wondering what you guys thought about just my plain green knee boots for turkey hunting, think they'll be ok or do i need to start scraping up some money?

RE: Boots
They should do just fine, especially if you'll be out on damp or soft ground. If you're going into rocky or mountainous terrain, you might want to consider something with more support and better tread.

RE: Boots
I worn the Green Lacrosse knee boots for the last 10-15 yrs with great success- You better not go in the woods around here without em-
Anything that will be comfortable and keep your feet dry will work just fine- You may be doing quite a bit of walking and crossing creeks or other water hazards so keep all of that in mind when you leave for the woods. good luck to ya |
RE: Boots
Hey Devil Dog.......those boots should work fine. I've found however that if my boots aren't comfortable, it makes for a long day in the field. As long as the boots are comfortable and have a good fit with nothing shiny, they'll be good to go. Remember what you've been taught, take care of your feet. Try not to get wrapped up in todays camo fashion show, that in itself will save you a lot of $$.

RE: Boots
Maybe just get some flat black and brown paint and break them up a bit...some of them are pretty shiny...maybe just knock the glare off them and they will work fine.

RE: Boots
Yeah those should work fine.

RE: Boots
When I first started turkey hunting to hide my boots I used a big piece of camo cloth and put it over my legs when I set up.
