Has anyone used a dog whistle for shock gobbling?
 

I have read about research done that says a turkey will shock gobble to a very high frequency sound. Has anyone had any luck using a dog whistle, and if so, what brand or make of whisle do you use?

Yeah I picked up one too. I think M.A.D. used to make them. Never heard a thing using it.

I had it on a lanyard, one day it unscrewed itself and fell off - I was actually pretty happy that I lost it.

if you blow a resl dog whistle around here,you will be swamped with strays,yes i had
to have one also...MAD..DEAD SILENCE IS RIGHT...gave it to someone else..:eek:

I just had to try one too when they first came out.Didn't know I could throw anything as far as I threw that.What really got me was I saw a gobbler feedin out in a field so I gave it a try,He never even picked his head up.

Thanks to all. I was just about to waste some money on one of these. I guess I'll have to find something else to buy.

yep, instaed of wasting your money on that whistle buy yourself a good locater call like a crow call or even a duck call, this will work and you won't end up with a pack of dogs following you around.

Well....I don't buy M.A.D. calls and have thrown away all of those! Will never touch another call by M.A.D.....IMO...R crooks....

YES I use my dog whistle.....It is a late season shocker tha has worked well for me. I have not had much success in early season.
I have had my best luck right after they are up in roost and 10 minutes before dark. What I do is run the roads of private property and shock call tyring to locate as many active birds as I can. I mean I really boogey. I start with an owl.......then a duck call......and then the whislte.....I don't wait more than a few before I am off again. If they will answer iit IS because of shock! If I get one to asnwer the whislte that is what I use and will triangulate it.

I tried it. Didnt work for me. Try a peacock call. They are high frequency and tend to work very well. I just bought a Primos triple call and it has worked great. I roosted three birds this week with that locator. You can do a peacock, woodpecker, and a coyote on the one call.
