RE: WOOD,POT OR NOT?????

My personal fav. is the codyII glass in a walnut pot. I did just order a glass on glass in a walnut pot from www.kaiserkalls.com. This was done based on the advice of many using this forum, haven't got it yet so I don't know how good it sounds in relation to my cody,. All that speak of it , says it sounds as good if not better, won;t believe that till I hear it for myself. Hope it does though cause it will be one really great sounding call.

I just finished a slate over glass kit. Chose hard maple and it sounds great. The websites are listed in response to my earlier post about slate calls. About 60% of cost of commercial call with bonus of maybe tagging one on a call you made.

Totoe,
Wood pot friction calls make some really sweet sounding calls. Here is one I'm particularly fond of, it's made out of osage orange. The super hard osage really makes it resonate!

You can check it out here if you like at Harrison Game Calls.

I picked up an American Friction Rock Bottom Glass last year and I LOVE it-
It's the sweetest sounding call I've ever owned- I'm not quite sure exactly what type of Wood the pot is made out of but it sounds Great and I wouldnt trade for squat!
I shopped for about a month looking at Glass and Slates from different makers and decided to go with this one, cant remember why I chose this paticular one but I'm glad I did
Good luck on your journey

I really believe wood pots sound better. I've never heard a call set in graphite that touches the sound of a wooden call.

The Cody's are good, as are the Blodgetts. I like carrying mine in a waterproof container, both Cody and Blodgett sell them direct.

MOTT,

Stop talking about Steve Harrison's calls!! I didn't order one yet, and I'm not sure if I will be again this year!! I've already bought 4 new slate-style calls this year, with another on the way from Cody! Not sure if I can stretch the turkey call budget any further!!
