Grand Slam Rules??
Ryan,
Excellent job, my man, on getting this little shindig together. Now we have to make up some set of guidelines. What are we going to report, and how many?? Hence, people hunting in different states have different bag limits, and people hunting in multiple states can harvest XX number of birds. Each team member reports his largest/best bird or all birds?? NWTF scores or just weight?? Also, the teams looked great but I'm a little weary of some of the other teams stockpiled with those Midwestern hunters--those Eastern birds get superbig compared to the ones up here in the Northeast <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>!!! RE: Grand Slam Rules??
I think we can do just about anything with this. I know we want to report the biggest bird for each species. I was looking at states and stuff last night. The teams are pretty close as far as number of birds they could possibly take per team assuming everyone limited. Only off by about seven or eight.
These are some things we should do for sure: 1)Each teams biggest species all scores added together to get a team score 2)Biggest individual turkey per species award 3)Most turkeys for one team 4)Most turkeys for an individual Just stuff like that for fun! What does everyone else thing? Throw out some categories, again it is all for fun. The major contest will be the team with the biggest gross score on all four sub-species. Ryan Tucker |

How about longest team total beard length on registered birds? Or longest hooks?

RE: Grand Slam Rules??
there are so many varibables.
maybe score all the birds by species by the NWTF system. add all team members score for each species together. have a winning team on each species? just a though. I'm game for whatever is decided.let's have fun. Ryan:thanks for a job well done on getting this going. RE: Grand Slam Rules??
Like I said I am game for whatever. I just want to keep it fun. Let's not worry about proofing any kills or anything. We can trust each other! The only thing I ask is that everyone e-mail me the birds they kill with the score already computed. That way I can go into where I have the teams saved and enter your bird and score. When all of the seasons get going good it is easy to let a score slide past. [email protected] is my e-mail, if you don't know how to tabulate the NWTF score you can go to www.vaturkey.com and they have a place to enter your scores.
