Turkey scope
First off let me tell you what I am shooting. I have a remington 11-87 special purpose gun in camo. I have fiber optic sights and a kicks gobblin' thunder choke tube. I want to use an aim tech saddle mount which I will be able to look under to still use the fiber sights if I want, but would like to try a scope. What is a good scope for turkey, and do you like a fixed or variable? I really like bushnells scopes, but want some suggestions from people with experience using them. I have scopes on all my deer guns, but have never tried one for turkey. Thanks to you all. Bhunter32.

RE: Turkey scope
This will be my 11th year with a scope on my Rem. 870. I wouldn't consider going to the turkey woods anymore without it. I use a Leupold VX-II 1x4x20mm. I don't think there is a better scope made for turkey hunting. If you're considering a scope for your shotgun, you should do yourself a favor and take a good look at this scope!

RE: Turkey scope
Like the above post has said, a good scope is the way to go , but I will also suggest the Tasco 1.75x5 , I've used this scope for 10 years or more and have never had a problem , I never take it off 3 power. Stay away from Bushnell there junk...BT

RE: Turkey scope
HEY, THEIR BHUNTER32, I USE A SIMMONS PRO DIAMOND 2X, IT IS AN AWESOME SCOPE ALSO SMALL AND LIGHTWEIGHT.

RE: Turkey scope
I also use a leupold 1x4 on my gun. Having used a scope for the last 4 years now,I'll never hunt again with out one. They do add a little weight to the gun,but nothing that excessive. Don't buy a cheap scope as you know, the recoil on some of those turkey loads are quite severe. I have a buddy who put a low end bushnell on his gun and after the 6th shot he broken the recticles in it and couldn't sight it in at all!
