Hunting Seats
I'd like to get some of your guys opinions on those low hunting seats such as Buckwing or H.S.Strut put out.For you guys that use them, are they at all cumbersome to tote around with you.I'm getting tired of getting a sore behind after trying to wait out a bird sometimes!

RE: Hunting Seats
I have been thinking about getting a seat. I can see the positives to having a seat like your talking about. Depending on how much equipment you pack including decoys vest and gun - Some of these seat are make to fit around the waist with the seat next to your gluteus maximus while you walk - this would put it out of the way of other equipment - I am considering one for this spring also - It would also help early in the morning, keeping your pants dry. I don't know - something about crashing down next to a tree on the ground - I might purchase one just to be safe this year? Who knows?

RE: Hunting Seats
Paintbrush, love that user name!! TPhunter just got a H.S. Strut folding leg model and I actually tried it out myself!! I'm planning on getting one of those seats myself before the start of this comming spring season. This past spring, my butt was killing me for sitting so dang long waiting out those gobblers!! The regular seat cushion that comes with your vest, just doesn't cut the mustard anymore with me either!!

RE: Hunting Seats
seat is great when your sitting on it but can be a PAIN IN THE BUTT when luggin' it around with ya!
as always just my opinion |
RE: Hunting Seats
I got the H.S Strut model last year and my butt is still thanking me. Not to bad to tote around. Mine has the fixed legs as i think the other ones will break sooner or later.

RE: Hunting Seats
I have the seat with the fixed position legs . It works good ,and I strap my decoy to the bottom with a bungee strap when I'm not using it .

RE: Hunting Seats
Hey Paul and TT, I think you guys are right about that fixed leg model, besides it's cheaper as well!!! Good point!!

RE: Hunting Seats
I suspect those new seats are great, but I'd have to think real hard about carrying yet another gadget with me. I've got enough trouble deploying decoys, getting calls out and getting a good setup quickly when the gobbler is just over the rise. If you, however, were going to sit all day, I'd think they'd be much better than a thin pad on the ground.
