It's good to see it has livened up in here. It's freezing here in NJ and I am looking forward to turkey season. Spring means two things to me: Turkey Hunting and trout fishing. There are not many turkey hunters in my neck of the woods, so it is refreshing to read and exchange ideas with others who have a passion for the sport.

I just thought of something...hope no one calls me crazy lol:D

I think there is a reason why there is a bunch of turkey talk all of a sudden. Turkey hunters have a syndrome known as turkeyhunt-aholicism. When spring gets near the syndrome gets more powerful and turkey hunters can't help thinking about spring 24/7. [8D] That explains everything:)

I'm glad that I'm not the only one getting fired up by the spring. I start looking forward to turkeys in the early part of deer season. I get so into turkey hunting that I go absolutely broke before the season trying new things and calls. I guess you will never learn if you don't experiment though.:)I LOVE HUNTING!

Thats the thing about Turkey hunters- When everybody else is getting bummed out over deer season ending, we are just getting fired up. Im STOKED about this year, My 11 year old son will be making his first Turkey hunt packing his new Rem 870 Meat Missle. I'm taking him the West Tex to hunt Rios for 4 days in April- He's been running around here with his slate call driving his mama CRAZY for the last two wks- I'd give my right arm to see him call up his first Gobbler and take him with just me watching- He is so intent on doing it all by himself and without Daddy helping him- My wife keeps saying- " Thats great, now instead of one running calling for 3 months, now I've got two"

Hey VP, I hope it all works out for ya but instead of daddy just sitting and watching take along a video camera and capture it all on tape. MEMORY of a life time!

I seriously thought about that Pat but dont know if I can make it work- My Vid camera doesnt have that anti shake mode on it- I tried it with my hunting buddy one time and the video ended up making everybody seasick and laughing at me on how bad I had the shakes-
I guess if I lost the shakes , it wouldnt be any fun anymore-

All the same, I'm gonna carry it anyway, I couldnt pass up the oppurtunity to video it.

Vance,my middle son took his first gobbler this past spring and all I can say is your in for a real treat!!Lots of smiles,hugs,and pat on the backs...Take pics lots of em they grow to fast!!!!:)

Do like we do VP just get your self a low tripod....our's is as tall as we are when we sit on the ground...works pretty well. No shakes....well almost none anyway...somebody usually shakes the bi-pod from getting to nervous[&:]
