GT,

The red dots are alright, I tried a Burris SpeedDot this spring, but I still prefer a regular scope.

And my favorite turkey scope is the Simmons ProDiamond 2X. It's small, light, and makes any turkey shotgun look even better :). Spend the $80 (or so) on the Simmons and you'll never look back.

Good luck,

Tyler

I would have to agree with what PABB had to say.....sell the BSA and get a good low power scope, you won't regret it. I wouldn't go to the turkey woods without a scope on my 870 anymore.

A good buddy of mine bought one of those for his turkey gun this past spring, and as we were sighting in our guns for the spring season, his BSA red dot optical sight fell apart!! Since I was there and seen first hand what 4-5 turkey loads can do to that BSA Red Dot device, I can honestly say they are very cheaply made, try to get your money back and buy a quality scope such as a leupold!!

How about the Nikon red dot? Anybody think those are any better or still recommend a scope? I would really like a red dot but will go with what is best.

While I never actually used a Red Dot optical device, from what I have heard and read, the Aimpoint is one of the best of the bunch. Stands up to the recoil and is a quality unit. One thing though is that they aren't cheap!!!
Being more familar with scopes, that is what I have on my turkey gun, mainly because my gun shot high left with open sights. I'd love to use some fiber optic sites, but I don't think I'd be able to adjust them enough to compensate for my gun with out the sights looking awkwardly off center.
