RE: Tree Climber's mount pics

First of all I would like to thank GobbCaller for setting this up and posting tie pic's for me.
sorry it has took me so long to let you'al know about the birds and the mt's.
mother was sick and I was off work for a couple days.

The birds were taken in Levy co. Fla,they were taken on consecitive days about two hundred yards apart.the one on the left was 18 lbs. with 10 in. beard 1" spurs. right was 18 1/2 lbs. 10 1/4" beard 1" spurs.

they both gobbled the first morning chagalleing one another on the roost, for about half hr.I was about 75 yrds. from the first one at fly down time.he flew down and came stright to the decoy.I took him at about 20yrds.I just set and listened to the other boggle with his hens.
I think that is the reason the first one came in so quick, the hens was with the other one.
the second one on the next day.I set up on him the third time before I ever saw him.the hens with him keep feeding off the other way.each setup they would go around me.on the third setup there was a palmetto patch and a ridge next to a creek.I set up next to the palmetto patch.it was about 75 yrds. to the creek.the hens came by right on the creek, and when the gobbler came into sight I started calling,he would gobble to me then the hens then me.this went on for 15 to 20 min.he struted and gobble in one spot all this time.he made a mistake by coming on my side of a big log when the hen got to far from him.it was 35 big steps. the BPS 3" mag. and Winchester copper plated # 6 shot did the work.
that is one morning I wished I would have had my veido camera, that would have been a nice show, struting and gobbling for 20 min.
the mts. are real easy for your taxidermist to fix. they should cost about 1/2 what the other mts. cost.

GLAD YOU ALL LIKE THEM.
