I keep my mouth calls in the Fridge as well. I can get sometimes 2-3 seasons from a call before it gets tossed!! If I like the way a particular mouth call sounds, I'll buy 2-3 of them at a crack. This way, I always have back-ups!!

I usually get new calls every year. I will by 2 of the same call and practice with one and save the other for the season. I normally buy 1 or 2 new slates as well.

New calls every year or every season for that matter is a good idea especially if you don't take the care of the call that it needs to perserve and sterilize it. The cold you had last will remain in the call and infect you again. Don't be so stingy, buy that new call and support the industry.

I put my order in every January for 30 mouth calls. My call maker has them ready for me in Febuary at the local outdoor show. I get so many cause I usually throw 10-15 of them away cause I don;t like the tone. i keep what ever is left in the fridge and take one that may not be the one I like the best but still sounds good and use it to practice with during the year.
