Nice peeping Tom there. I got a chuckle out of that. Just today, I was out walking and doing a little unofficial scouting (basically to learn sign), and saw nine hens gathered up in the wierdest spot. It was wayyyyyy out in the country but they were right behind this house and now I'm wondering if they probably had a sliding glass door or something and thought they were coming up on another flock. I am not into deer hunting (at least not yet) but saw an eight pointer today as well. There seemed to be a lot of wildlife on the move. Maybe getting ready for this little winter blast we're supposed to have tonight. Even the labs have been extra playful. ha ha ha. ;). Okay- while I'm here, I'll ask something else. Any of you ever tried a suction call? I picked one up today from a guy in Missouri and he swears by em (of course, he also sells em), but its got a distinctive sound to it.

Carolina,years ago I use to play around with a Tom Turpin suction call.I've heard some great sounding wingbones too.The key to calls imho is pick one your comfortable with and work primarily with it.I guide hunters every year who come with a boatload of calls and hardly know how to consistently work a one of them.I've even had to show a few how there own call operates.Even on a hunt,in most cases I use one, at most three calls on most hunts.Get familiar with one call to where you can confidently produce turkey talk then move to another.Nothing wrong with carrying a bunch of calls to the turkey woods as long as you know how to use them!!!;)Keep huntin... Bob....

When my parents we're first building our house ('78-'80) there was a male ruffed grouse that hung around all the time. Apparently this was his area before they timbered and began construction.

After they installed the two sets of sliding glass doors (early spring) he began strutting and attacking his own reflection, eventually killing himself from the ferocious impact.
