I thougth the rule was whoever got there first picked the bigger bird.........

I've always done it by which side you're sitting on also.

The only chance I had at a bearded hen i lost because it came in on a buddy's side!

Dad didn't get one last year. So he's first up to shoot this year.

To help you Jake. 1, 2, 3 shoot does not work taking a double.
But do this
I use a blind. When a pair of Toms come (looking for my 16th double) the person on my laft gets rhe bird on the left. Im right. Luck of the draw.

Eachbl of you raise your firearm and aquire your target. You can whisper "Are you on him'". At the same time when you say that you have your bird sighted in. Its killable. When you hear the answer "Yes" simply say "SHOOT",
It will dound like one shot.
