Default Squirrel Data Please ... Kansas / Oklahoma / Nebraska

Hey everyone, I am an amateur squirrel hunter, but also a biologist interested in the distribution of Eastern Gray Squirrels. They are really interesting out here in Kansas, where their geographic range ends as you go west into the open plains. Anyone hunting in this region, I would love it if you could share with me any sightings of Fox Squirrels versus Gray Squirrels. I would be very grateful to you. You can answer this thread, or PM me, or you can deposit your observations on iNaturalist. Please give me a location that is within a 1/2 mile, so that I can plot it on maps. Thanks!

As a lifelong central Kansas resident, I would guess I have seen somewhere on the order of 50,000 to 1 Fox Squirrel to greys. I have never seen a Grey outside of urban/suburban park environments, and never west of the I-135 corridor.

sorry no experience where your at
but where I live there are tons of the darn things, I would be more than glad to find a way to give you all you want HAHA!
as for me all they do is cause me a mess with bird feeders and find them filling barns, garages up with seeds and what not's(red are even worse here)

to me there more a nuisance than any joy , I don;t eat them so don;t shoot them and cannot even find anyone that wants them to eat!
IMO there more like furry rats , some think there cute I guess, but I don't !
