quick question

hi i am new here.
I have a good question on hunting Turkeys in the west, Last spring we had a setting hen come in our camp and drink every day for a half hour or so and she would go back to her nest. This got me thinking about hunting Toms by a water hole or setting up by a water hole, My question is has any of you avid turkey hunters ever tried the water hole ? now remember here in Utah we don't have a creek or stream or pond in every low spot there is, I have been to up state New York, Mass.,Kenn.,Tenn. and I have never seen so much water, Water is a good place to be for deer and elk out here, But what about Turkey's?

In western Oklahoma where I do most of my hunting a water hole can be a good place to set up. I see most of the birds around them shortly after fly down, mid day if its a warm day and then a few hours before they go to roost. If the hens are visiting them then you can be sure the Toms will be also

One of the first things that turkeys do when they come off the roost in the morning is head for water. Doesn't matter where you are. In some areas water is closer than others.
