We had some crazy weather during Ohios January muzzleloader season. Including a large thunderstorm. Also a tornado about ten miles away.

Three gobblers were gobbling their head off with every boom of thunder. Went on for about a half hour.

Really got me excited and fired up for the spring season.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures and hearing the stories and hopefully adding some myself.

Looks like it may be a good year for me. I've been watching eight longbeards on my property in Louisiana for a while now. They were strutting for some hens this morning. Lots of birds where I hunt in Arkansas too. I'm not too worried about Texas. There should be plenty of birds there. I'm really getting fired up.

Bird down in Florida. 18.1 lbs, 1” and 1 1/8” spurs, 7 7/8” beard. Set up where we have heard birds gobble: was a quite morning nothing gobbling from the roost. My gobbler slipped in at 11:00 with 2 jakes.
This is my 1st bird with the 20 gauge and tss.
I will add a pic when I figure out how.

Congrats...I'm guessing it is an Osceola?
Bout how far away did you take the shot, and what brand of TSS?

Thanks. It snuck in to about 4 yds, behind me and to the left. ( 7 oclock) he saw something he did not like and putted and was about to leave. The shot was only about 7 yds.
yep, Osceola.
loving the 20 gauge. It is a joy to carry and shoot. Wish I would have known about it 10 years ago, I would have switched sooner.

thanks again, and I am looking forward to seeing and hearing about some others turkey hunts.

Sorry for the delay on getting your picture up John. I ended up in the hospital for three days with the flu and some other complications going on. Lost track of my emails while in there. Home now though.

Beautiful bird

not a hunting story, but last few days I have had a lot of turkeys in my yard strutting and gobbling there brains out, had one nice gobbles, easy 9 inch beard, with about a dozen hen's here, strutting for them for about 45 minutes, turning small donuts all over my small food plot while they ate??? as plot looks pretty dormant yet to me!
so there getting fired up here it seems to me!
good luck to anyone heading out

I didn’t see a place for 2020 birds but here’s a couple. 1st was 23 pounds with 3/4 inch spurs and a 10 inch beard. The second is 20.2 pounds with 1 inch spurs and a double beard. 1st beard is 7 1/2 inches and second is 5 1/2 inches..
