Default Wisconsin Zone 3

Hey guys, I'm new to the site but from what I have read so far it looks like a great group of guys with lots of good information.

I am heading to Wisconsin to zone 3 on May 10th to hunt public land birds and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience in zone 3. I think I have a general area picked out to hunt based on looking at a number of aerial, topo, and plat maps but am really open to any suggestions if there are certain areas of the zone that are better than others. Any help is greatly appreciated as I have never hunted Wisconsin before.

Thanks! MiBowhunter21

I hunt Zone 3 and will be hunting the same week you are. We hunt both public and private land. We've gotten more birds off of public land than private, mainly because there is a lot of public land in zone 3. It's a huge zone, so it will depend on which part of it you're hunting. But, in general if you have some agriculture in your area, there should be plenty of birds. We had an easy winter this year and pretty good nesting success the last 2 years. Good luck.

Awesome, thanks! Good luck to you too! I think I'll be starting in the Arkdale area and probably head east if I dont find much there

A great area. A good mix of cropland and oak woods. Should be plenty of birds. Also plenty of ticks. Pack your permanone.
