Took me a while to finally figure out how to find what you were talking about on that website after I had to log in and establish an account there. Here is an actual link to the article:

For Second Chance---That "Rooster" load you mentioned is only suggested for use on pheasants by Winchester in their advertisement for that load.

I've been using a 20 ga for years on turkey and have no trouble rolling them at 35 yares with Winchester's Supreme 3" #5 shot.
I use a youth model Remington 870 with a Millett red dot scope. Its like carrying a bb gun in the woods.

I'm with Bronko......only a Nikon Turkey Pro scope and a Pachmeyer butt pad sleeve to extend the stock to fit me. And a Buck creek neoprene cheek pad to make a soft Monte Carlo stock.
Winchester Supreme #5 in 3 inch. Found a closeout and bought 8 boxes.

True that. BUT, in a 2-3/4" 12ga, you are only looking at 30yds MAX. So would it matter if it was 20ga 3", 1-1/4oz or a 2-3/4" 12ga with 1-1/4oz? And I know from what I have both read, patterned and shot, it is a short magnum like the Winchester XX Magnums. And with the Shot Lok Technology, resin filled shot column, makes it at least equal the shell the XX magnum is. IMHO.

100% agreed. But that's where folks like us come along and push the limits and boundries and test them where they either don't or won't and find out what better ways to use their products. I have shot patterns with those shells in my X2 and a Hastings tube that I would be afraid to say at what distance I shot them at. I have a gaggle of other tubes to play with as well for testing that I have received from others who used them and didn't like them and gave them to me to play with. But in a 20ga tube, nothing will adorn my weapon but a Wrights "Swarm" tube!!!! They have set more 20ga World Championships than any other tube out there.
