I use an owl hooter before sunrise and the a crow call after sunrise. To be perfectly honest I don't use either very much. Mother nature usually makes them sound off. The less they hear from me the better off I am. That's where my scouting comes into play. I will know already where I am setting up.

He's got it right. Most mornings he will gobble at least once before he hits the ground but there are those certain birds that will tight lip all day if they've been hunted hard. My experience with crows come daylight hasn't been anything to write home about but a good owl hoot will make the spookiest of gobblers yell back!
