Not a fan of the 3 1/2 " shell at all, especially in that gun. I had one of the first models they came out with way back when and after patterning only 9 shells, that was more than enough for me and my shoulder. You can shoot 3" shells and I think that they would pattern even better. It comes with a back bored barrel, which helps out with recoil.
