Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Fall Turkey hunting use a single hen decoy or no decoys at all

First year fall firearms turkey hunting for me and I am wondering if I should use a single hen decoy or not.

Where I hunt I DON'T have enough time in the woods due to distance from home to pattern them at all. They are always there in fall I have seen them deer hunting a lot but during firearms deer season.

Why not hunt them with a bow so you can shoot turkey or deer....

Bow hunting this year for some reason I can't enjoy it after about 15 mins I am ready to go home and have to force myself to stay, I seen plenty of deer but just don't enjoy it right now, haven't given it up but I think I need a change and that is why I am going to try firearms turkey season and see what happens with the bow hunting after turkey and firearms deer seasons.

I might try a decoy in an open field, but that's about the only time I would try with fall turkey.

Getting a shot during the fall is usually pretty easy providing either sex is allowed. I don't hunt them in the fall anymore but when I did I just found the flock and busted them up. Move a little bit and sit down and start calling and most will just come right back.

I haven't ever used them in the fall but there might be times I would. Expecially hunting smaller woodlots with fields around where busting the flock up isn't very easy.

I'd use a single upright hen and purr and putt.

..............wanting a Tom to think, it seems fine over there by her - BANG !
