Some more Stabilized Honey Locust Burl Pots

Just finished these up. Matching soundboards, and striker handles on top of Diamondwood pegs. Thanks for looking!

Really nice. The matching soundboard's are sharp.

CA finish?

I've tried but can't get that good of a finish. Really I am just too darn impatient. Pens I can do. Calls...not so much.

I have started rubbing mine down with gunstock oil while on the lathe. I had been spraying them with lacquer. I like a matte finish. I really let it heat up while turning on the lathe by applying with a rag and then buffing it in.

Polyacrylic by minwax. Sand pot to 220, spray. sand with 400, spray, sand with 600, spray. If happy, then done. If not, sand again with 600 and spray. If needed, sand with 2000 and polish.

CA takes a lot of practice. It's a lot easier to do on duck calls and pens than on pots with holes.

Those are some beautiful calls. I'd be afraid to take into the woods and dent it up.
