Fall Breed?

I am new this past spring to turkey hunting here in NH . Do the turkeys mate in the Fall also? I have a fall tag for bow. hearing gobbles while deer hunting. I call and they respond back but dont come in. I had two toms also sneek in on me at 30 yards. I reached for my call in my pocket which I did not have to do because they where coming to me. Well, they saw me move and wiggled away quickly. Now I know how smart they are ..Live and learn.

RE: Fall Breed?

Turkey' s only mate in the spring of the year. It is normal to hear birds gobbling in the fall. Young jakes tend to try out the vocal cords in reaction of near comunication of others. Its not unusal to hear birds gobble throughout the year...BT
