Colorado Gobbler

I got this bird yesterday on a ranch owned by an old family friend. The ranch is located along the banks of the Republican River in the eastern part of Yuma County, Colorado.

The bird is a Rio Grande bird. He weighed slightly more than 22 lbs, had a 10 inch beard and spurs a little under an inch. He was an old bird and the spurs were worn down and dull. I took him at about 20 yards using my late Father's old Belgian Made Browning A-5.

This is my first Rio and I'm very happy with him.
