My decoys did not work right!

Hi guys I was setting in my blind at the spot I had the question about. My decoys were out and they worked all wrong for me.. I had them set for turkeys and what do you think they had brought in? Large bearded animals is what they brought in to me.. Three frigging moose surprised the heck out of me. A cow and 2 yearlings. One of which was a spike. I was nervous and paranoid about a large bear in there when during a light rain I could hear something moving around. I looked and saw nothing. Then I heard this groaning sound and looked again as these 3 moose was walking by right across from me.. LOL I was relieved it was not that big bear. Anyways here is a cell phone picture I took as they were up past me.. You can see 2 of my decoys out there as well..

That was definitely something I bet you weren't expecting to the decoy spread. Cool pics anyways.

Yes you are right! I did not expect to have this happen to me.. But, it is just another day in the life of a turkey hunter.. You never know what you are going to have happen out there in the great outdoors... ;)

Must be something the members of the deer family like about turkey decoys because mine bring in several deer every spring. I even thought about throwing them out in front of me during deer season in the fall !

Last year, I had two big bucks come by and sniffing and actually licked my decoys a couple of times. I've had geese take interest in my decoys before as well. They also attract coyotes.

Maybe you should try turkey decoys come moose season ! Very cool.

I have also had deer lick my turkey decoy. One doe was so enthralled with it, I could not scare her away until I actually stood up and walked toward her. I thought perhaps the decoy had some deer scent on it. Who knows.

Thanks everyone.. I am wondering if the decoys may have a calming effect on them or something? Perhaps deer as well as I have seen both deer and moose out around real turkeys before..

I had a doe come in to my deke a couple years ago, but when she got to the down-wind side of it, she must have smelled human and she spooked.
