No one ever knows what they will encounter when out there hunting for turkeys!

Phil, you are absolutely right. Turkey hunters are out for thrills and excitement, amazement, and the occasional laugh. If you EVER go home disappointed, then you weren't turkey hunting.

Try Cutt technique, is a loud, sharp clucks that are often mixed with yelping.Cutting is a sign that turkeys are excited, not alarmed. Tried this a lot of times and it works like magic.

I understand the cutting can help a lot at times.. I tend to mix it up a bit as well. The area I shot my last tom in was call shy. They had drove around there practicing prior to our season starting. So the birds did not care for calls. But by carrying different calls allowed me to mix it up and give hope of one showing up. While the birds did not respond good they did at times show up. Those moose were a thrill for me to see come strolling along and checking out my decoys. I had never had that happen before..
