Learn Wingbone's lesson well! Anytime a hen answers your calling forget about that Tom and cobcentrate on Jenny.....It's the hen that rules the roost.....Tom will follow Ole Miss Loud Mouth anywhere - even right to your gun sight!

A smart hen will lead her tom away from your calls. If the tom heard your calls...he might come back later after his hen/hens have gone away to nest. You can also try to intercept the flock's path, or wait another day later in the season; when his hens have possibly given up interest on him.

If ya know where they're roostin.Go in before daylight and spook em off the roost(that will split them up) Come sun up he'll be lookin for company.Works when they're on the ground too long as they don't go off together.Just get between em.He'll come. Nature will tell him to find a hen.
