Turkey knife

I plan on cleaning the turkey in the field and packing out the meat. De-breasting etc. I'm looking for knife recommendations. A knife specifically for turkey.

Thanks in advance.

Just use your hands lol but honestly just pack your wife's paring knife. It doesn't take much to break down a bird. Go to dollar tree and get a paring knife. You don't need anything special.

In wv you must take the turkey carcass to an official game checking station or natural resource police officer. So legally you can not rifled dress a turkey in wv unlike a deer where all you need is the skin and head to check in.

Interesting md check in can be telephone or computer. We don't even have checking stations anymore. Which kind of sucks because it was nice seeing all the deer from the area.
Thy do set up temp check stations for our week long bear hunt.

Yeah va is the same way call in or online. First year of that deer kill numbers were down. Talked to game Warren in wv they said they think the numbers of people that would call deer kills in would be low. And that is why they still make you physical check in the deer.

In Al., we have no check-in stations and such a weak tagging methodology that illegals are likely no never get caught. Only the unlucky ones, and the stupid ones end up getting snagged.

Primary reason is that there are so few DNR wardens on the payroll. Each has way, way too much area to cover. I lknow one very well. He says about all he has time to do is respond to landowner complaints.

I have hunted in Al. since 1974. I have seen a warden in the field 2X. One checked me on a dove hunt way back in the mid '80's and the other was lost, wandering around where I now hunt deer looking for a corn pile that had been reported by the adjacent land owner. That was around 2005.

I guess "in field" was a poor choice of words. I plan on cleaning after check in..

Need a good keep its edge sharp knife.

The ones I mentioned at dollar tree are stainless steel and you could buy a new one every year. I could see where you would want something to last a lifetime though. But when it comes to hunting I try to save as much as I can. Keeps the cost of meat down lol
I like old timer knives you should check them out

Would this knife be suitable for turkey?
