Colorado Turkey
Got my permit today. Drew a tag for unit 102 in eastern CO. I have an old family friend that owns 10,000 acres in Yuma County and the Republican River runs through the place. He has hundreds of birds on the ranch. In that area of CO they are the Rio Grande subspecies.
In June I'll put in for a fall permit for the Bosque del Oso WMA since I'll have a bear tag for that unit. The Merriam bird is in that area of the state. So, that will give me 2 species in CO if I get both birds. I'll do an Eastern here in VA in APR so that makes 3/4 of the common slam. |
That's awesome, you're gonna have a blast (pun intended)! Headed to TX in a few weeks for our annual Rio, hog, & 'yote hunt, looking fwd. to it!
