Mouth Call Technique

I have been trying to cutt with a diaphram call for a long time, just cant seem to get it down. I am determined to have it down for next years spring hunt. Anyone have any advice or techniques they' d like to share?

Thanks in advance

Primos and Knight and Hale both have good tapes (video and audio) that explain it better than I ever could. Practice with the tapes and then tape yourself to hear how much you sound like they do. You will be suprised how much differently you sound on tape. Then just keep practicing (like most things there is no easy way or trick that beats hard work).

Primos has this great diaphram called the cuttin hook. I t is very small so you can close your mouth till there is hardly an opening at all. The way i tought myself is i would go out and find a squirel, and throw a rock at him. I know this sounds corny but just hear me out. If anyone knows how a squirel barks and can immitate it, they can surely cutt. If you want to call me a fool that is ok. but youll be the sorry one who might let that gobbler go because of a little nut chaser.

Cutting is done on the same note as a Cluck, The pitch and rythem changes the sound of the call. It is a call that starts Low and slow (Clucks) and works into a fast irregular beat. Just speed up some clucks and see how it works. The other fellows have great advice aswell...BT

thanx for the help everyone. I guess its just going to take practice on top of practice. The individual clucks are no problem, but doing them in rapid fire is tough to get down. oh well plenty of time till spring season
